Ok... here we go.
BJ Penn Vs Sean Sherk
What a great match up.
First lets look at Sean Sherk:
He has been undefeated in the UFC at 155lbs. In fact he has only lost to 9 time welterweight champion of the world 170lb Matt Hughes and the Current welterweight champion of the world George St Pierre. Sherk has never been knocked out of submitted.
BJ Penn - BJ has unreal Brazilian Jujitsu skills and is a world champion in BJJ. BJ has lost to the same fighters as Sherk (Matt Hughes and GSP). The biggest weakness for BJ has always been his cardio. He comes out and kicks ass the first 2 rounds but then gasses. He also not had a very big win since submitting Matt Hughes almost 5 years ago.
Verdict: I really like BJ Penn but I just don't think he is any different now then he has been in the past. I just see sherk being very aggressive with BJ and inflicting some serious ground and pound damage. I look for BJ to gas by the 3rd round and Sherk will win by ref stoppage due to strikes.
Bet: No action.
Wanderlei Silva vs Keith Jardeen
Keith Jardeen has a crazy unorthodox style that throws off everyone he fights. I feel he did a great job against Chuck Liddell getting some great leg kicks in early taking off a lot of Chucks power later in the fight. I think this also showed Silva what NOT to do. Silva needs to be aggressive get inside and do some bodywork in the clinch.
Verdict: I look for Silva to win in the 2nd round by TKO
Bet: 2U on Silva to Win.
Tito Ortiz Vs Ryoto Machida
Tito Ortiz has not had a impressive win for over 8 years. Tito is also massively distracted with a big new shiney contract from aonther organization mixed with his clothing line and tons of other crap. He has not been a serious fighter for a long time.
Then Cross the river with Machida is undefeated and just moving down contenders. He has great takedown defense and also has a really active and impressive guard.
Verdict: I think Tito's only chance is to get a 1st round take down and inflict some serious damage on the ground and try to get a stoppage. I think machida's kicks and strikes will take the power out of Ortiz to get a later take down. I like Machida to win by decision (in a boring fight).
Bet: 1u on machida
